Following extensive engagement over the past three months with lodge operators in the Sabi Sand, as well as tour operators and agents located in international markets. Airlink is pleased to advise that it has been able to make amendments to the timing of its Skukuza flights in order to further add to traveller convenience and to enhance their bush experience.
The morning game drive, prior to onward travel that same day, is a key feature of an African safari. In order to allow guests to maximise their day, Airlink has moved its Skukuza – Cape Town departure to 11:20. The later departure will provide guests with more time to enjoy their game drive followed by breakfast and a more leisurely check-out and transfer to Skukuza airport. This is especially relevant during the winter months, when game drives typically commence after 06:00.
Similarly the departure of Airlink’s first Skukuza – Johannesburg flight has also been moved to 13:30. Again this will mean for guests connecting onto early evening intercontinental long haul departures that they will be able to spend more time in the bush and less time in-transit in airport departure lounges. Additional time is also provided for those transferring by road from lodges located at some distance from Skukuza airport.
Airlink will commence operating flights between Johannesburg and Skukuza as well as Cape Town and Skukuza from Monday 2 June 2014. The flight schedule is available in the GDS and on the website.
Following successful rehabilitation of the Skukuza runway which re-opened to charter flights on 18 February 2014, work on the airport terminal refurbishment is progressing well and Airlink looks forward to welcoming its international visitors to what is set to become a key iconic entry point to the Kruger National Park and the adjoining Sabi Sand reserve.
